THE ACADEMY PATH.

A high-level look at MDPSRP training. Our public website introduces the journey; full classroom materials, exams and operational guides are reserved for enrolled and authorized members.

Four progressive phases

From application to community service.

We take preparation seriously. Different departments require different kinds of knowledge and practice. Training is designed to build respectful, consistent roleplay rather than rushing anyone into a title.

01

Fundamentals

Department orientation, roleplay standards, basic rights and introductory knowledge.

02

Field Practice

Supervised scenarios focused on decision-making, communication and professional judgment.

03

Specialization

Deeper study tailored to a chosen role and any approved specialty interests.

04

Evaluation

Instructor feedback, practical assessment and command review before a role is awarded.

Academy access is controlled. Full handbooks, exam banks, answer keys, simulation scripts, role-specific operating procedures and certification records are not published in the public site files. Course videos and live certificate sync are planned features, not presented as already operating.
Learn the law

Real references. Responsible roleplay.

Maryland, Pennsylvania and federal law provide important educational foundations for the community. Those sources are public; MDPSRP-specific charge codes, workflows and internal materials are separate.

What training feels like

Make the academy part of the story.

The academy should feel like an experience, not just a checklist. New members should understand the standards, practice scenes, and earn trust through professionalism.

Orientation days

Meet community expectations, learn communication standards, and understand the bigger MDPSRP world before the first active scene.

Scenario practice

Traffic stops, patient contacts, radio traffic, report writing, chain-of-command, and scene safety should all be practiced, not rushed.

Graduation & mentoring

Even after passing, members should continue with field training, mentorship and feedback so the department culture stays strong.

Training lanes

One academy. Multiple paths.

Different roles need different types of preparation. The public website should make those paths feel exciting while keeping private lesson plans and exams secure.

A great public academy page should answer:

  • What is expected before joining?
  • What does the first week feel like?
  • How are recruits evaluated?
  • What happens after graduation?
  • What makes MDPSRP training different?
